Surviving Albuquerque in Graduate Style
Welcome to the University of New Mexico Physics and Astronomy graduate student guide! We hope that you find this semi-comprehensive guide useful in your time spent in Albuquerque. After all, graduate school is years of your life's blood poured out upon the academic altar, so you should have some fun along the way. Remember what all work and no beer made Homer do. This guide is mainly geared towards incoming graduate students, so you older folks should bear with us through the old hat parts.
Ahem...In an effort to make your move to Albuquerque easier the Physics and Astronomy Graduate Student Association (GSA) has put together this online guide to life in Albuquerque. Some of you may already be familiar with the area if you have been here before, while many of you will be coming here for the first time in August. Either way, we think there is a lot to learn about the city and its attractions and pitfalls. Any tour book of New Mexico will tell you about the sights, tourist attractions and history of Albuquerque. What we are giving you is the information on what is here that you wouldn't otherwise find out about, such as what the students here are like, the best places to eat, the best bookshops, grocery stores, movie theaters, et cetera. So, on with the show.
