**Oct. 6 will also mark the start of the  Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta that will run until Oct. 15. This (planed) coincidence will provide an opportunity for our visitors to experience this spectacular event in the days following the meeting. For example, an early morning  mass-ascension (of the balloons!) is scheduled (weather permitting) for the Saturday Oct. 7th.
However, beware that hotel rooms in Albuquerque are very scarce and  usually booked months in advance for this event. We have reserved 10 rooms (under Laser Cooling in Solids) in 3 different hotels for Oct. 5-7 (see table above) for which you need to call and make your reservation and payment arrangement ASAP. We need to know if more rooms need to be reserved. Alternatively, you may choose a different hotel (e.g.using hotels.com , expedia.com, etc.) and make your own lodging arrangements separately.

(c)  need lodging assistance.
