3.3 Changing Filter Wheels

Changing filter wheels takes about 5 mintues. Putting the telescope along the meridian at about 0° Dec allows easy access to the filter wheel box, which has four small hex screws on the cover. It lifts up and slides down along its guide rails.
Carefully unscrew the thumbscrew in the center of the wheel. Lift the filter wheel up along the telescope axis.
When putting a wheel in, use a flashlight to find the two pins that guide it. There is only one position that works for the two pins and the thumbscrew. Reassemble the cover.
Obviously, treat the filters very carefully. Fingerprints are not considered good manners. Blow away dust with compressed air.
