After topping off the dewar you can take Biases. In CIA, set Image type to "Zero" and change the Object Name. It will automatically take 25 Bias frames (IRAF calls them Zeroes) that can later be combined into a Superbias in IRAF. The overscan region along the right side of the image is used to determine the bias level for each image.
