Hi All,

   Welcome to Physics 102.002.  If you are not signed up for this
course, or intend to drop, you can ignore the rest of this message.

   I would like to convey a few points of information:

(1) The syllabus for the course is on-line at:

This describes course goals, the textbook, grading, and many other
important aspects of the course.  I will hand out a paper copy of the
syllabus on the first day of class, and I encourage you to look it
over at your earliest convenience.  This is also the class web page
and you will find various useful information here as the class 
goes on, so you might want to bookmark this page.

(2) We will be using i-clickers.  To register your i-clicker
point your favorite web browser at:

http://panda.unm.edu/clickers/taylor102.phtml

Enter your Banner ID (should be on your lobo ID card), Name, e-mail,
your Clicker ID, and verification, and you will be assigned a CLASS ID
number and then directed to another web-site where you will enter your
name, Student ID (this is your Banner ID), Clicker ID, and yet another
verification to complete the clicker registration process.  You have
to visit BOTH web sites to be registered.  Be sure to make note of
the CLASS-ID that you obtain in the process as this is how your test
scores will be listed - we are not allowed to post scores by name or
Banner ID.

(3) If you buy the textbook (Conceptual Physics Fundamentals) and
the i-clicker together then you can get a $10 rebate.  See the rebate

(4) Your webassign username is your UNM e-mail username (everything
before the "@" symbol so for example if your e-mail address is
gbtaylor@unm.edu, then your username is gbtaylor) and the password for
everybody is phys102.  You should change that when you login to
webassign.
